I think this film is excellent in its portrayal of propaganda, which feels relevant today. Its the story of the Lusitania. People lie, either as a bad selfish habit, or because they are at war. Be wary of people who are at war because war goes hand in hand with lying!
Spiritually speaking, is it important to correctly perceive and tell the truth in order to extricate yourself from wittingly or unwittingly being at war?

If the Democrats had their way, voting Republican would be against the law. For die hard Democrats, I wonder how far the ship has to sink before they want to get off.
There, I brought it full circle, back to the topic of sinking ships :)

Here is a quote I liked from the narrator: " I used to think a government was there to protect it's people. But of course it's there to protect itself." All seems to be about big military looking out for big capitol. Even today, the war machine is once again being cranked up. God help us all.

Its partly our fault, if we take the bait, which is usually some form fear. I think its fair to say that, irrational fears outnumber rational ones.

Its a bit cynical to say all governments just serve themselves. But they certainly will head that direction if the citizenry allow it to happen. In a way, I think "we citizens" have more power than ever, but on the other hand, many of us make bad personal choices, and we may not put the power we have to good use. Even if we are smart, caring, and motivated, we can't expect things to be instantaneously perfect. Like the saying goes, Rome wasn't built in a day.
