In a interview with Russell Brandt, Vandana Shiva tells us the big reasons behind India's very high suicide among Indian farmers is due mostly to Bill Gates by way of large political bribes persuading officials to pass laws detrimental to farmers ability to make a living wage from growing their crops. It is very sad so many folks believe Gates is some sort of world savior when nothing could be further from the truth.

Vandana Shiva is an anti science nut getting rich on the backs of the ignorant and fearful. Listening to her and her like will send us to the dark ages. Organic is fine for your garden unless you want to win a contest but cant feed the world. She preaches against GMO’s when in fact they are no different physically than breeding the same plant for the trait you added. Somehow idiots think that ingesting a GMO plant is harmful? The chemical soup we digest is exactly the same. Complete lack of knowledge of how the chemical processes of life work.

We are in the dark ages already, because chemical fertilizers shouldnt be considered unhealthy. We need "those chemicals" for our health just as much as the plants do. What we probably do not need is glyphosate, glyphosate resistence in GMOs, organophosphate pesticides, hexane, mercury, etc.
The other things that the big food industry is addicted to...
If they put bt toxin, etc, into a plants genome and it spreads into the wild (which it will) thats a serious problem for all insects, both the good ones and the bad ones, right? Millions of years of evolution are thrown in the toilet like nature has no value at all.
