Im having an issue with my leaves. They keep wilting on just one plant on 2 vines. 1 vine will wilt and when it gets dark out it comes back to life. Both vines come from the stump. They have plenty of water i'm sure. I'm trying not to over watering them. Today isnt that hot out. (81 degrees). Do you think I have a bug problem or maybe stomp rot? I havent had any flowers on the 2 plants that I have. I do however have a pumpkin thats about to bloom soon.

I would examine the stump and main vine very carefully for any leaking or oozing areas. Vine and stump rot are common for me during hot and humid weather, all it takes is one small crack for it to get started in.

Maybe that\those vines aren't rooted well. My plants tend to do that when leaves are young and still in process of deep rooting.

Look at the vine where it meets the stump. I think you will find your issue there. My guess is you have an SVB problem. Look for any area that looks different then the rest with oozing or browing orange material. Report back what you find, we can help more then. Also, do you have any pumpkins set on this plant, if so, are they on these vines?

Ok I just had a good look around the stump. Plant 1 has like that orange goo around a little bit of it. Its at the base of the secondary vine. Old leaves storm damage leaves were cut off. I'm not sure if there is bugs getting in or not. I seen some very small brown eggs underneth a couple leaves. I sprayed for bugs last week, and then again yesterday. PLANT 2, has a split about finger lenth long. but all leaves do not wilt. Still no flowers on either plant. How do you fix these issues? I got compost tea brewing and should be good to go tonight or prolly wait til tomorrow. I found some fish fertlizer pellets made by Alaskan? in the lawn n garden section at Menards. I picked some up and threw them on there as directed to. Suppose to water them in. I do have a bottle of Captan.. Should I do something with that?? I will post some pics. Any advice will be helpfull. Thanks guys.

The "orange goo" looks like wet saw dust, may be where the Vine Borer, entered the vine to begin his damage. See if you can find where he is in the vine and pin him or cut him out with a little slit length wise on the vine. Sprinkle the open area with garden dust and cover it with dirt(method I prefer), or wrap it in an old nylon so it will dry out and harden. Then buy a good systemic!!

Also next time you're cutting leaves or anything remember to: Cut them as flush to the vine as possible. Make sure when cutting you don't leave a pocket for any water to catch and sit. Powder the cut with Garden Dust, to help dry it out, and keep the bugs from entering the plant at the fresh cut.
Good Luck
