I've read mixed things about terminating the vine right after the fruit when growing a pumpkin on a side vine. thoughts?

I've always terminated the vine after the fruit when growing on a side vine....that being said, the largest I've grown on a side vine was 728 lbs...

watching the sidevine i polled yesterday,, if it takes , i will cut it beyond the fruit,, and also term the main vine at junction,,, re-adjust,, see whats what,, last hope on this plant
