Has anyone ever heard of craning a pumpkin over the house?
My dilemna, small residential backyard, narrow side yard
on both sides, and can't get pumpkin thru. Pumpkin weight
should be approx 800+ lbs.

no. dont lift with a pallet/ if shifted or pallet collapsed youll be adding a sky light to house
leave pallet in your truck set pumpkin on it

I was looking into a crane but just couldn't see myself spending that much cash. I will be borrowing a friends very small tractor, taking down a portion of my backyard fence, also a chunk of my neighbors fence and doing my best to get that thing in the back of my truck!

Whats had my life come tooooooooooooooooooooooo :):):)

No need to get out of hand like Darren says get 6 or 8 guys, feed them some beers and put it on your pallet ( on the truck) with a lifting tarp. Otherwise build a tripod which will serve you good for years to come.

I just loaded a 966lb kin with no tripod,backhoe or lifter of any type.
We got it onto a piece of 3/4 plywood drilled a hole in the wood and dragged it onto a trailer. Mind you my kin was high on a hill and never had to go up. We used a come-along to get it finally on the trailor.. It took 2hrs for 2 old men load it.

We use the same method as above..except our special pallet has wheels.. lift, slide, pull..secure. Sure is nice at the weigh off or when you want to display it somewhere.
