I have been trying to stop this for a week now It seems better one day then worse the next. I have been washing it with 10% bleach and peroxide then dusting it with sulfur. Also have a fan on all day and night. Is there any thing else to do? If I cut the stem off will it stop the spread? Thank you Dan

Dan,
if you can, take a new, clean, straight edge razor blade and try and scrape some of the dead/rotting tissue out until you get to good tissue. you can clean the razor between scrapings with the 10% bleach solution. when you're all done with that, spray the area down with the solution and keep a fan on it until dry. i dont like dust with sulphur until the area is dry. good luck

if your weather has been damp with humid conditions its ideal for rotting to continue. you cant get the area to dry because of moisture and humidity in the air.
scott gave you good advise but i would also add trying a hair dryer ( on low setting) placed a few ft in front of the rotting stem.
that warm air blowing on a freshly scraped and sanitized stem should help a lot.

Try some alcohol (rubbing).Once I put that on my stump per a HH it never ozzed again.

Thanks for the advice. I washed the sulfur off with bleach and kept the fan on today. It looks better starting to dry off. It has been raining a lot ( wrong time of the year of course). Thanks again Dan.
