I lost 3 plants to bugs early. Got one to a weigh-off but they found a soft spot on the bottom. It ended up weighing 846 dmg.

Freedom Is Just Another Word For Noting Left To Lose

This was my first year and the pumpkin weighed in @ 396 lbs. I made lots of mistakes and will correct them next year. I only grew one plant and one kin from a single mound on the grass lawn. I've got a jump on next years patch and am going with a full 1200 sq ft.. I'm looking forward to next year and watching these baby's grow again. I had lots of fun and have learned a lot from reading this site. Come on spring.

So.Cal.Grower, you had a great year and really did it the right way making good mentor contacts. Its a real model for folks who want to learn quickly. I've caused some self inflicted wounds and had a little bad luck. Hopefully next year we will have something quality to weigh. Here's to a short winter!

Still several backbreaking years from having my soil anyways near ready to grow with serious competion in mind. But happy to get one to a certified scale, 368lbs. Cross is 1184 Krause 10 X 1476.5 Delatas 11. On day hope to be able to spend some real dollars at this, but for now we'll just keep plugging for another PB! BSD, David
