I am wondering at what intervals do I apply insecticides and Fungicides. I have both bifentrin and merit insecticides, but not sure which is better. I had a lot of trouble with SVB's two years ago and did not have any plants last year. As far as fungicide I have been using Daconil, but have had issues with PM in the past. I am not sure if I did not apply it often enough as I only did it every two weeks. I just got my plants in the ground today (late start) and after 3 years of trying this I find I still have a lot to learn.

I mix 1/8 tsp. Merit and 1/2 oz. Talstar with a gallon of water. I think that you need a stronger fungicide.

bifentrin (contact)and merit (systemic) insecticides work differently and in concert with each other, they are both good and what the majority that I know use for insecticides. we apply about every 3 weeks for merit and bifentrin usually about every 2-3 weeks (or when we see a bug), we also add garlic extract on a weekly basis for repellant as an additional measure.

Fungicides.
you need to rotate several so that the fungi dont get immune to the one that you are using.

Eagle in rotation with daconil works well for powdery mildew.

OVGPG has a spray program posted at http://www.ovgpg.com/documents/articles/ovgpg2-11.pdf
that many people have great success with.

Good Luck

Great stuff. But I'm to poor to grow Tim's way.
