I had to train this pumpkin vine around because it grew the wrong way. It is growing really nice now and the secondaries are taking off. So the way it is laying kind of sideways at the beginning of the vine made both of the first secondaries go to the same side of the main vine.

What do I need to do? The way I see it, there are 3 options. 1: Train one back to the other side? It looks pretty determined to grow that way, but I suppose it could be done with patience. 2: Prune one, but aren't these the strongest secondaries of the plant? 3: Leave them alone, but train them apart so they have their own space.

Your thoughts are appreciated!!! Thanks.

Train them apart if you can, don't try to bend it over to the other side of the plant. Cut one off if they are too tight for you to access the main vine or are stressing the vine.

Your option 3 sounds fine to me, too. Secondaries don´t need to run parallel.

Check to make sure your secondary is not sticking up like a rooster tail. I had to part with a first secondary vine that was sticking up like a rooster tail wanting to flip......Last year BiZ had one of theZe..he waited too long to cut it off...after the wind caught it...it ripped a big hole in the main vine and ended its year on that plant....... ItZ not worth the chance... so I cut it off....instead of trying to do a loopidty loop.
