The stem near my pumpkin has a split. I have cleaned it and used bleach and sulfur. How often should I continue to use bleach? The split is not into the cavity of the pumpkin. Thanks for any help.

I found peroxide works best for me. I used at about 10% solution like many have recommended. Some use it stronger. Keep it dry as you can with a fan and if you can let sun on the area.

Last year mine was the same way. It stopped the growth so I picked it and put it in the barn for 30 days till the weigh off. I used bleach and sulfur and kept fan on it and it was ok. It probably lost a few lbs during the month but at least I made it to the scales.

I'm a fan of peroxide as well, followed by a good dust of sulphur.....Terry
