I have tried 2 methods. I got 1 plant growing now and have 3 that wont root. I used the damp paper towel in the baggie method which worked. Then the direct sow and its done nothing. I need atleast 2 plants to grow. I even tried to get Carolina Cross watermelon to grow and nothing using both methods. What else could I try before it gets too late in the season here in Indiana?

What are you using for soil, and how wet..that is 99% of the probelm in most cases. A good soiless mixture just wet enough to feel the dampness, in a pot with good drainage. This time of year I put the seeds outside once potted up in a nice sunny location. This is the only method that is a sure deal for me with long gourds

Yep I would put them in a 4 inch pot filled with promix planted about a third of an inch under. Put in full sun and enough water to stay moist from dawn till dusk then the soil should be approaching dry. Repeat each day. If that doesn't work blame the seed. Good luck

Pumpkin seeds want to sprout. They like temps in the 80's and moist ,not wet soil/potting mix, paper towel. If they aren't sprouting your conditions are too wet,or too cool.

Try this. In still new at this but it is 5 for 5. Germ in 24 hrs or less from all seeds. Just ensure the seed has been soaked before you do it, comes apart much easier if seed is not dry.
