Hello all- I'm making the plunge this year from big max variety to the Atlantic giants. My patch is located 75 ft from the house spigot. In the past I have relied on twice weekly manual watering with the hose, and a drip hose around the main stems. I've decided to ditch the drip hose as I think little critters chew holes in it thereby springing leaks all over the place. Plan is to grow 3 AG plants in a row. What sort of a watering system would you advise using the existing water source? Don't want to spend much more than $125 on the system. Huge thanks!

Impact sprinkler and hose. Best way is drip tape layout but will be a little over budget

Thanks Cojoe! The garden dimensions are 80'x30'- do you think an oscillating sprinkler would cover that area better than an impact sprinkler? I've only used cheapo oscillating sprinklers in past gardens and haven't been impressed with them getting stuck and failing to oscillate. Would spring for the 60dollar one if they really work better. Any thoughts?

I have the same prob. with oscillating sprinklers on my lawn. You can elevate a impact sprinkler using a post. Two would cover that area.

I'm just throwing this out there, but wouldn't your contact sprays get washed off each time you water? Also, does this promote powdery mildew in hot and humid places? I'd like to switch to overhead but hesitant to pull the trigger. My soaker hose set up is severely antiquated

no pm here luke...everythings overhead here, i even played with misters for a bit. I mean keep your eagle 20 on standby just incase but its doable

Ive meen misting in hot Colorado(not humid)forever. It doesn't bring on powdery mildew. Shade does bring on pm.Keep your plant well pruned to avoid leaf overlap as much as possible.
