I started my seeds a week ago and so far they have been doing well. However, the first true leaf on one came up with dark green edges that seem to be dead and it is crumpling the leaf instead of letting it expand. I did not do anything to cause it, they did not get burnt, and I know better than to try to fertilize a seedling. The second leaf is coming out fine though. Will it continue to grow at a normal pace or will it be slowed by this?

it will be fine.

It is most likely burnt from being to close to the light.

if you take a very sharp pair of scissors and trim the edge off, it will uncrinkle somewhat and grow more normally.

Ok, thanks.
Besides a genetic thing (probably not), the only thing I can think of would be burn from the light but I don't even know how that could happen. The light produces almost no heat, and another plant I have kept getting taller, coming within millimeters of the bulb before I would have to adjust it, but that one is fine.

Anyway, I didn't think it was that important, but I wanted to make sure. Thanks

I had the same thing...I realized two years ago I had a small fan blowing towards the plants while under lights, that kept the heat of the really close fluorescent bulbs from burning the leaves...it also makes for sturdier stems, but of course the pots dry out faster also
