I am so excited to report - I have had 7 female blossoms (five on the main vine) on my plant and today, I pollinated a female. The "chosen one" has been tied off and wait begins. Just in time for another Illinois rain storm - AGAIN!! Row, row, row your boat........................... LOL Someone in my family accidentally planted a giant watermelon seed along with a bush watermelon seed within my other plot. Which plant is which is a mystery! Anyone with id information on which plant is which would be greatly appreciated. thanks!!

Congrats on your pollination!!! Its a fun time of year. Just look at the female flowers of both melon plants. The Carolina cross (giant) will be a long fruit under the blossom, and the bush will be roundish. That's how I would tell. Hope that helps. Best of luck.

Thanks catond! Did you have tips on how to grow this giant? Please share!! This one is my first along with my giant pumpkin which seems to be swelling nicely.
