In my haste to provide a platform which was needed for storm water runoff at pumpkin set,I nicked off about a 1/8 to 1`/4 inch off off the 1/2 inch end of the round blossom end.It was a quick straight cut that fell off easily. There was a slight spot of moisture and i applied dry grass clippings to spot and hoping for best. This is a week old set out about 22'from stump.Any advise would be helpful ,thanks.

the button is not important, some people cut it off. I would clean the grass off of it and keep it dry, it will dry and harden and be fine.
