I have a very nice 1370 that is around 8 ft long and starting its laterals, however I noticed a 4 inch split in the main about 18 inches from stump.Probaly in same area where the main began to lay down.It seems that the plant is aware maybe what happened as it looks like a new "main" around 20 inches now is quite vigorous and taking off.Should i treat that one as main and deadhead other plus laterals or let both grow or what? HELP !!!new main opposite side at rear and wants to go towards side like the first lateral is.

Yes you can train the back secondary/ main as a new main.Prune the original main a lot so that the plants energy will go into the new main.

is the split lengthwise or crossways? a lengthwise split is no issue at all, just keep it dry. a crossways split is another matter entirely, at which point id go for a new main

The split is lengthwise. All I did so far is gently pinch off the main tip. did not terminate any laterals yet or do anything to the "2nd main".???

What is best if keeping main to keep that spot dry? Also should i let other "main keep going as it is about 2 feet long now.

Don't panic... Sulphur dust or captan powder to dry cuts...if you pimched main, the next biggest secondary will be your new main...lol..been there

Thanks,I put a cover over that spot.If I do not use additives it will not heal?No problem with the idea of using it.I imagine sold locally somewhere. IF not do i have time to locate online and order?
