I'm not at the stage to start culling (well, maybe one).
But curious as to how perfect you feel the lobes need to be, to be the pumpkin that you go with.
#1 pollination is up for the obvious cull (but i went thru the motions pollinating etc) http://bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=258989
#2 has no seeds - but overlapping lobes on some segments http://bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=259159
#3 (today) looks fab http://bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=259685
#4 will be ready in a few days.
I've pollinated everything, so we'll see what successfully sets - and grows.
Obviously holding out for #3 to be the keeper all being well. And there's lots about to say #1 is a cull.
But what about the overlapping lobes in #2 - are they still avoid by people if other options are possible? Or assuming it grew the fastest, more than viable.
Thanks!
