Grown pumpkins for years and first year with AG. I've got a very aggressive plant setting lots of fruit and I'm guessing way to close to the stump. Main vine 6' and 7' first secondary 4' and another 5" at next leaf node. BigNOrange genes 681 Dill Mc Donald HD 1374 X 1561 Reeb. Monster of the patch by far. Just starting to get some length. Also late start. Don't want to cull secondaries just yet. It started looking more like a bush then a plant when it started. Very healthy but looking for advice on culling the fruit. I know they are way to close together but would rather wait for more fruit further out. Help!!

Leave one or two on secondaries as emergency backup and pinch all the others off. Even if it takes till July 15, wait for ones on the main vine After 10 ft. Having a bigger plant outweighs the need to set earlier. The small growing pumpkins will not take much energy away from the plant meanwhile.
