Today I finally had two friends over to help put my pumpkin ontop of a wooden pallet. Should of put it on the palletlast week as my pumkin is easily over 150lbs as it took two of us to pick it up and one to move the palleyt However while moving the pallet it got caught on the grass and slighlt knicked a 3 inch by 1/4inch portion on the bottom of the fruit. It is not deep at all it has just scrapped off the skin. My question is what can I do to help prevent the issue from becoming a major problem?

Apply a fungicide, and keep it dry. Why were you putting it on pallets is the real question?

I was told to put it on a pallet. What happens when the pumpkin get to 3 or 4 or 500lbs or bigger how would else would I be able to move it? So I have been putting it on a pallet for the past 3 years with no issue. Yesterday was the first time that I ever had an issue hitting the pumkin against the wood. I bought soe fungicide today and just applied it to the wound area. Il have to look into the sulpher powder. But I will keep an eye on the problem and hope it just heals itself. Should I put a fan on the pumpkin to help keep it dry? Thanks for the help guys. I really do appericate it!
