Just a little encouragement to new growers. I started out with a 581 in 2010 and grew a 912 in 2011. After that I grew a 636, a 650, a 774--and this year I grew a 1114.

It took a lot of trial and error, a lot of reading, watching videos, and talking to experienced growers, as well as a lot of hard work, to break the 1000 pound barrier.

Don't give up. Find out what works for other growers and adapt it to fit your circumstances. And start with the best seeds by contacting individual growers, sending an SASB, and letting the growers know how you did with their seeds.

Grow a big one. And expect to lose a few along the way.

Find a mentor. It drastically increases your chances of success.

I 100% agree with Linus - Just ask Mobymikeguide and that weird QTip fella - I am pretty sure both of them had a mentor if not several :)
