My wife is on a 4 hour round trip to Uncle Jim's Worm Farm to pick up a half ton of castings (isn't she great?). This is for each planting hole which is in addition to the 44 tons of mushroom soil I spread and chisel plowed in to the entire patch (8100 square feet). Good thing she doesn't know what I spent at the seed auctions and on other amendments. Anyone else have a wife that doesn't understand but is still going along with what you've just invested yourself into?

She doesn't say to much. She helps me out when I need it, BUT, she does not seem to care about OTT numbers, pounds per day, ounces per gallon, foliar sprays/drenches, walking boards, vine position, color/size of the leaves, watering timers, cover crops, number of secondary's before pumpkin, shading the fruit, pollination date, roundup, temperature of the soil, date of the weigh offs, percent heavy, vine burying mix, weather forecast, size of plant before pollination, balanced soil, urea mate, what Dave Stelts did to his garden....any time I try to bring this up, her eyes just glaze over. What gives??

There's nothing like having the full support of a grow partner...we are gutting our house this week and the misses is fine with me taking the chimney out(center of the house) so my side of the bed will have a view out to the patch ...

I don't go overboard spending on the garden, but my wife is supportive. She didn't complain when I rented a skid loader to dig out ditches and raise the garden higher. I don't get her out into the garden until harvest day, she sunburns easily. But she really enjoys the drive out to Pawnee City on the interstates, with all the people rubber-necking and coming up to take pictures at gas and rest stops. And she loves going fishing with me so I have plenty of fish carcasses for fertilizer. I just need to keep her in the shade along the trout stream.

I learned that I have married the right gal these last few growing seasons, I was out of town and a hail storm came, without skipping a beat she ran out there and pulled the hail net over (my poor wife was so embarrassed after the fact, she had a white shirt on but what a trooper). Then this year, my tiller threw a rod, next day brand new tiller waiting when I got home. Shes a keeper! Keep em guys!!!
