1st year trying to grow a gaint pumpkin, been growing pumpkins fpr years. Just for fun i ordered Atlantic gaint seed nothing special just everyday seeds. The pumpkins grew good early on. Learned quickly that i made a couple mistakes first one didnt give enough growing room and i planted a gourd that grows like kuduz too close to pumpkins. Pumpkin got to 89" and 65" around and stopped growing been that size for couple weeks. Why? Plant looks good just no growth.

Could be one of several reasons. Often it is a vine borer getting into the pumpkin, a mouse digging in from the bottom. It might be a disease, rot starting in from the bottom. Did it get too wet, too dry, too hot, too cold? Sometimes you never really find out why.

Sometimes it's a lack of nutrients in the correct proportions.

I have secondary vine that is too close to my growing pumpkin. I have trained it as far away as possible. Should I cut it. I am a new grower. Thanks for any help

Where Is Eidson? You should probably get a soil test. You can grow pumpkins for fun or jacko lanterns. But if you want to grow giants you really need to know where your soil stands to reach your goal. I'm 4 years in and just now getting the understanding about soil and micro nutrients. If you didn't use any fungicides or pesticides it's really hard to give you good advise as to what Might have gone wrong. Don't be discouraged. Research so you get more info.

I know that i didnt put in enough compost in the spring, been using water solvable fertilizers and 12-24-24 fertilizer. Been spraying sevin got a cucumber bettle infestation, and a copper fungicide.
