I live in southeastern Pennsylvania. It has been cooler than normal at the end of Aug, beginning of Sept. This coming week the night temps are in the mid to low 50s. And, it's been a bit wetter than usual too. I have a pumpkin whose stem is turning yellow, but the vine is fine. My question is, given the weather conditions, should I harvest the pumpkin now? I've never harvested one this early. Thanks!

It would be better to leave it on the vine, a roof over the pumpkin to keep the soil dry would help, they can be cut and stored in a cool , dry, shady area too

If you're going to take it to a weigh-off, leave it on as long as you can. If the stem is not soft at all, then it should be fine. They will often keep growing in the cooler weather, just at a slower pace

Use a little fungicide on the stem. Sulfur powder or full strength daconil.
