Subject: Vine vs roots vs secondaries vs pumpkin

The two large healthy ‘squashkin’ plants I have were started together in the same pot. One I would call “ normal”. The other... has a thicker vine and longer distance between the nodes, however, the secondaries are much slower and the stump is a little smaller, perhaps indicating less roots.
Is there any relationship between the physical traits of the plant and the pumpkin it might produce?
