I am not really a new grower, but my question is so basic I thought it should go here. I normally spray or spread granular additives to my patch. I have recently ordered some Merit75 in powder form.
I want to do a drench. Do people just soak the soil around the vines with a sprayer or do they just pour out buckets of mix?
I would love to know how other successful SVB Merit75 growers drench their patches and product amount.

We don’t get SVBs, but I use a hose end sprayer that mixes and sprays 12 gallons. I mix at 1/8 teaspoon per gallon and spray all over a full size plant the entire 12 gallons.
We also foliar spray at the same 1/8 tsp per gallon.

I put 3 to 4 tsp in 5 gallons of water using a watering can I pour it in a doughnut shape around the stump in an 8 to 10 ft circle once every 2 weeks

Thanks for the replies. North Shore your method was a light bulb moment. I did not know that spray tanks had electric pumps until I googled 12 gallon tanks.
I just use a 4 gal. backpack hand pump sprayer, and I was like how in the world do I drench my garden four gallons at a time with a sprayer plus the time it would take. It is not in the cards for this season to buy a fancy sprayer with an electric pump, but I will have one for next season. The electric pump is a gallon a minute so I could soak the entire vine in no time. :-)
So the Baitman method will be applied for this season. Thanks again for the thoughtful replies.

Your 4 gal. sprayer should work fine. Rate for soil drench is 3-4 tsp. per 1000 sq. feet. Spray all soil under plant evenly (like painting a wall or car) at that rate and then water in thoroughly. Keep well watered,do not let soil dry for at least a week. If you can do it before a rainy period it helps get it watered in.

Col. Fryght, to be clear I am talking about a hose end sprayer, not a tank and no electric pump. Just s plain old hose end sprayer like this.

North Shore thanks for clearing that up. I always have a tendency to make things more complicated than they are.
