Have a lot to learn still. I did my first test to see how things are going and if I should be supplementing more to get bigger gains. Something tells me I should be doing more feeding than I am. Would you adjust something at this point in the season or possibly do more next season earlier?

A little background on this season. I did a soil test with Western Labs to adjust my soil, once the plant started flowering I have been adding a spoon feeding every 5 days that was suggested of 1/4 tsp boron, 1/8 tsp copper, 1/2 tsp manganese, 1/2 tsp zinc, 1/2 tsp magnesium, 1 tsp 11-52, 1 tsp seaweed powder and 1/2 tsp Humic/Fulvic acid as a drench for my patch of 1250sq ft.

I am thrilled with the gains I have had and this is my best pumpkin by far at approx. 860lb but small compared to many. It has averaged 20lbs per day from DAP20 to DAP55 in a space of 600sq ft.

LM, I’ve been growing AG,s since 2005 and my personal best is 1362 lbs.

I’d be over the over the moon thrilled, (as would all growers in my region of British Columbia) with a pumpkin over 850 lbs in the middle of August. That pumpkin should well over 1000 lbs by end of August and should get another 200-300 lbs (or more) in September, so if that pumpkin were in my patch (with regular growth pattern for my area) would be prolly 1400-1600 lbs by Weighoff time.

That being said, those micronutrients every 5 days sounds like a lot to me, but I use Ureamate regularly to satisfy my pumpkin plants need for any missing micronutrients.

Was there undecomposed organics that are robbing nitrogen or any signs of deficiency in your older leaves? great question for a better grower than myself...

A little ammonium sulfate wouldnt hurt? Theres a lack of top growers offering advice...

Not remotely a top grower, lol!
But, as suggested above, Ammonium sulfate would address both your low N & S.
Or you could use other sources.
You could give it in your feedings.
Or foliar for a faster response.
For the foliar you could apply it singly or with a fungicide or insecticide but try to keep the ppm 1,000 or lower.
