Does a damaged pumpkin count for a record? I think the answer is yes but want to check in on that question. Thanks David

I regret to say that "NO" is the correct answer. Simple example: Beni Meier grew the 2328(DMG) in 2013, and in 2014 he set three world records in a row, with the 2096.6, then the 2102 and then the 2323.7. It would not have been possible to call them world record pumpkins if the 2328(DMG) from the year before had already been accepted as a WR.

We Colorado growers dont consider a Dmg pumpkin with a accurate weight any official status be it a state record or a personal best. its a grey area in that it exists but its not sound.
