With 7 sites left to weigh the Grower Of The Year or GOTY award is getting a little clearer. Your leader is the same after fighting off a furious late inning surge by several competitors.

Congratulations to all who qualified and there may be a few more to surface after all sites have uploaded their information.

5) 4,323 Joe Platte - Another heavy hitter from that State up North LOL!!!!
6) 4,082.8 Andy Wolf - I don't know how he finds time to do it all!!!

Sorry got in a rush and missed some, the current standings are:

We will have a new 4,800# club with 2 members, we will add 3 members to the 4,500# club and 2 members to the 4,000# club. This is as of 10/11 there are still more weigh-offs to go and more chances for growers to earn a growers coat for the 4,000# club and up.

Steve the winner will be officially named in Niagara 2011 and receive their jacket(s), check, and other prizes.

The GOTY was the closest finish yet and when you average over 1,600#'s per pumpkin and have a margin of less than 9#'s per pumpkin that constitutes as a photo finish.

This category gets hotter every year and with 14 growers & grower teams making the 4,000# barrier I congratulate all of them on such an outstanding year!!!

It is good to see all the new jacket winners and the ones who already have a jacket just adding to their patch total.

I guess to answer your question Steve all I gotta say is:

HOW SWEET IT IS TO WIN THE GOTY!!!!

(that is unless Jim Sherwood brings a 3,000#er to the Terminator)
