It is with a heavy heart that the Great Pumpkin Commonwealth, (GPC) announces the retirement of two great members, Dave "Unibrow" Stelts and Don "the cougar slayer" Young. Dave has served the GPC since 2004 as President. Don has served since 2011 and was an at large member covering the Central US territory. We wish both of them well!
With the retirement of Mr. Stelts the GPC has some promotions to the committee. Assuming the role of President will be Andy Wolf from New York. Andy's previous role was Secretary, which will be filled by Kelly Klinker from Indiana.
Finally, we have three new board members to welcome to the committee. Kevin Snyder will be taking over the Northeast region, Sam Lovelace will be in charge of the new Southern region and Glen Martin will assume the Central US region. Please join me in welcoming our new team!
"The GPC's mission cultivates the hobby of growing giant pumpkins throughout the world by establishing standards and regulations that ensure quality of fruit, fairness of competition, recognition of achievement, fellowship and education for all participating growers and weigh-off sites."

God only knows how many hours Dave has put in the last 10 years, to keep the GPC a strong and productive organization. And he did it in a professional manner. Thank you Dave! The group coming in to serve and lead is impressive. We are a lucky bunch to have these dedicated people!

The gpc has evolved from a tiny 23 site group to well over 85 sites during Daves presidency. Dave and his executives have been a driving force for the gpc, its sites and growers for many years. I was proud to have served with him on the executive committee for several years.
Cudos as well to my buddy Don Young. We will miss seeing that big smile of his for sure.a great friend as well.
Andy Wolf? could there have been a better replacement to navigate the gpc through the coming years? I think not. Andy has been a tireless worker for the gpc and will have my full support.
Welcome new committe members as well. Have a great ride.

Congrats to all new members, just a word of caution, If you're asking Jim for money for a project, make sure you have everything in writing with backup, cause he will say no over and over Dave you did and were awesome. Don My feather wearing partner, you were a pleasure to work with, enjoy your time away
