There have been several early GPC events already this season that have not entered their information on the Results page. Please be sure to download that information as soon as you can after your events. Also, coordinators, please try to get all the necessary information (parentage, measurements & official weight)entered as well. Congratulations to all the winners so far and good luck in the upcoming events!

Speaking for the early GPC event “Woodstock Fair” that I help with as part of a Team, we have followed the pattern for measuring pumpkin while the fair is actively going on to help interact with the people who come to visit our display. We have been asked in the past for measurements the day of, but this does not help our goal of educating the public about the giant pumpkins.

We feel this is an effective method and those in attendance have made positive comments about our event which is great to hear after all of the effort and long hours that go into this single event.

Looking at the 2015 historical data for sites there is still missing data. Below are the quick facts for how many GPC sites are missing data in the following categories…

No measurements = 4
Sites that have data for less than 25% of pumpkins entered = 3
No parentage = 2
No pollinators = 1
No measurements and No parentage = 2

While early sites get a lot of attention because these provide the first new data reports reminders should be given over the season to try and reduce the amount of missing data at the end of the year.

Matt, this was nothing more than a friendly reminder. We are all busy and all volunteers so I fully understand. All we ask is to get the information in as soon as it's possible.

Speaking of results did the Heirloom site in CA get their spread sheet? I was looking for their results & didn't even see their name on the site list page?
