Dear growers,

Due to some changes in board comitee GPC needs a representative for European region. Increasing numbers of weigh offs need to be handled.
Every 2 weeks there will be a skype meeting, where different topics of our agenda will be discussed. Also emails must be read and answered. (a lot oft them)
The person shall be good with english to write and speak. Also the person shall be well settled in the „community“. Loality to GPC, growers and weigh off loction is very important.
If there are no appliances to this, GPC can suggest a person and vote about the joining.

Auf Grund Veränderungen im Komitee des GPC wird ein Repräsentant für Europa gesucht. Es gilt die wachsende Zahl von Wiegeveranstaltungen zu organisieren.
Alle 2 Wochen gibt es skype meetings, wo verschiedene Themen diskutiert werden. Auch emails müssen gelesen und beantwortet werden. (es sind viele)
Die jenige Person sollte gute Englischkenntnisse haben. Auch sollte die Person gut in der „Szene“ verankert sein. Loyalität der GPC gegenüber, den Züchtern und den Wiege Veranstaltungen ist sehr wichtig.
Falls es keine Bewerbungen gibt, kann die GPC eine Person vorschlagen und über deren Aufnahme entscheiden.

I am proud to be elected as a GPC board member and responsibility for Europe.

I also take the opportunity to introduce myself and my experiences as a breeder:

My breeder career started in the year 2008.

The first personal success I achieved 2016 with a pumpkin weight of 426,5kg/1160.7lbs. Since 2011 I started organizing the GPC weighing Brandenburg / Berlin. For 2 years in a row, I organized these cradles with family and growers support. Ernst-August Winkelmann, head of the "Spargelhof Buschmann / Winkelmann" in Klaistow, approached me for the coming season and offered to have the GPC cradles held on his farm in the future. Since then, the GPC weighing for Berlin / Brandenburg in cooperation with the "Spargelhof Buschmann / Winkelmann" takes place there and enjoys ever higher numbers of participants and visitors. In 2016 and also in 2017 we were able to decorate ourselves with the title "world's largest weighing" (measured by the number of growers).

Part II

I'm in contact with a lot of international breeders via email, Facebook and other media. In 2016, I had the opportunity to attend a Big Show in England for the first time. An exciting experience to meet many european growers personally. In March 2017, I made a big wish come true and flew with my wife to the GPC Big Show in Canada on Niagara Falls. This natural spectacle was already impressive, but the breeder community impressed me even more. Immediately we were part of the whole and in the middle of professional discussions. A wonderful feeling ... At this meeting, I gave a talk about the Weighing and the GPC community in Germany, to give the American and Canadian breeders a sense of how much the breeders community is growing, and not just in good old Germany, but also in other parts of Europe. The best evidence for this is that the last two world records were bred in Switzerland and Belgium.

I maintain a lot of contacts with old breeders and young breeders about my seed trade. Again and again, they offer me good seeds, which I sell in my online store and thus do my part to ensure that good breeds are set.

I accept the offer of membership with immediate effect and look after all European GPC member states.

My message to all breeders: Don't hesitate to contact me if there are questions, suggestions and information exchange.
