we like to see green x green pollinations because it can improve the chance of green from the seeds you produce. Lacking other greenies , selfing is your best bet.Noone will grow your green x orange, a few may be tempted by your green x self.

Noblesville, IN is the Indiana GPC contest early october. Oct 1 if I remember right. I live near Ft. Wayne and I would go with G and self that 992. That seed has 845, 935, and 846 in it and should be an excellent seed green. Make sure the female is covered before and after pollination so bees will not contaminate.

when they little and green ... they can still turn orange later. in 2000 I grew the 523 Hester 99 (469 Hester 97 x 801 Stelts 97) ... all the females were green at pollination ...then the keepers turned a nice dark orange
469 Hester 97 (

opps accidentaly hit enter
469 Hester 97 ( 850.5 LaRue 95 x 827 Holland 92) 850.5 LaRue 95 ( 567.5 92 Mombert x 782 Holland 93)
The only squash in the whole family tree is the 355.6 Dill 85* which was one of the grandparents of the 827 Holland.
so it may or may not be a squash ... only time will tell.
