I want certain traits in future generations. What is the best way to do this? I understand I will be looking at selfing or less likely sibbing so I am not wanting to discuss that.
However, Here is the main question: Do you self the original mother that produced the offspring with the traits OR do you self the offspring? Note, the offspring is already crossed with a genetically different male so I assume this brings in a new mix and makes the wanted traits less likely to occur.
Did this make sense?

Self original 'mother' with the desired traits.. Understand that you MIGHT get some undesirable rec. traits that show up, but if you can plant multiple plants each year.. You can just cull the one with the undesirable traits - and reproduce (self) it's full sibling whom didn't show that particular rec. trait.
