I was thinking about using this seed for a cross, but i can't find anything about it. I know the cross and the only progeny was the 502 Stellpflug. The cross is 935 Lloyd x open. any info or opinions about the 506 would be appreciated. thanks. joe

My only question would be, why? What redeeming quality/qualities do you feel the 506 possesses? It being from an open pollinated cross is a definite negative for most. The fact that there is a verifiable progeny is beneficial. However, I personally don't see any unique qualities detectable in the 502 that couldn't be obtained by many other contolled crosses. I certainly don't mean to rain on your parade, especially since I myself appreciate so many obscure crosses. It's just that this is an open or uncontrolled cross and that in and of itself is generally not to desirable. Having said all this, if you have a reason that is important to you why you like this seed, than by all means grow it! BF
