I grow jack o lantern type pumpkins in the same area where I grow my giant pumpkins. I do not practice controlled pollination. Will jack o lantern pumpkins cross polinate with my giant pumpkins rendering the seeds in my giant pumpkin hybrids and not worth keeping to grow more giant pumpkins?

Good question bob. The jack o lantern and the AG are two different species and can't cross pollinate. You are safe.

I thought all squash/pumpkins/gourds can cross pollinate?

AG's are C Maxima and require a C Maxima to pollinate each other. Lumina, Hubbard, Wyatts Wonder, Big Max, Red Warty Thing, One Two Many, Cinderella, and the list goes on.
If they are a hard stem pumpkin they are C pepo. They will not cross pollinate. If you plan on keeping seeds though I recommend doing a controlled pollination.

Wyatts do like nice tho, deep ribs, relatively round shape, nice color.
I wonder if there are some lines of AG almost guaranteed to look that nice, and have been selfed/sibbed for enough generations to be that consistent, while still being AG's that can go over 1000 pounds in the right garden with the right care?
I know there are some seed stocks that do that, but most are F1s of known behavior, 4 seeds out of 5 did that, and likely the other 200 seeds would too. Maybe one of those selfed could do that in the F2's again?
