After plugging in the top 100 pumpkins from the last five years into excel, I ran a forecast for the first probable year a pumpkin will reach 2,000lbs.
Do you know what it said? It said 2011.6! I think it meant 2012...the very year of the Mayan apocalypse. Coincidence?
The equation I came up with was y=71x-141203 Just plug a year in for x and it will tell you the average top 100 weight.

I think that means it will be grown in the southern hemisphere by Dirkus in the winter season here of 2012.

Maybe the gravitational pull of a 2000 pound pumpkin may start a chain reaction of events that will lead to the apocalypse.....what the heck, lets try it anyway!
