lots of posts this time of year regarding what seeds to plant?, planting your own?, what crosses to make?,whats the hot seeds ?, etc. for what its worth here is my opinion on the subjects. before you can develop a good seed stock you need to start by crossing seeds that have proven to grow big offspring. preferably over the chart as well. once you have accomplished this? you need to get others interested in planting your 3eed. if its big, chart heavy? they most likely will---orange is a bonus when growing for weight. my bottom line is this. i will always plant some of our own select seed crosses but will always bring in outside genetics from big pumpkins that we feel could increase the offsprings chances for a world record. when you plant or pollinmate with proven seeds your not guessing as much as you are experimenting.......thanks pap

Pap, from what I gathered from other posts, that seems to be the prevailing thought! Your comments just drive that point home, at least for me! Thanks!
