I have a 220 DeBacco going and it is getting close to pollination. Another local grower has the Freak,1495 Stelts, 1744 Fulk, and a 220 DeBacco. Originally I had planned to sib the 220 DeBaccos, but now I'm having second thoughts. What cross would you like to see made.

I think 220xfreak grew the 1744 so you know that's a good cross....I think it would be cool to cross the 220 x 1744 mother daughter cross...:)

List of possible options and my opinions…
220 x sib = not going to be many replicates of this cross out there, but the 220 has a lot of 1725 Harp in it already so the need for further in breeding may not be necessary. 220 x self = personally I like the sib option better than the self as there will be at least a little more variability with the sib option. 220 x 1789est Wallace = essentially this would be a 1744 Fulk remake, which is not a bad cross, but again contains a lot of 1725 Harp. 220 x 1744 Fulk = I think this may have too much inbreeding in my opinion. 220 x 1495 Stelts = this cross is my favorite out of the options provided. This would be introducing some different genetic lines and also adding some much needed orange color.
*Remember, you have to like the cross you make as hopefully you plan on growing your own seed next year so use the above only as a guide. Sometimes going with what you feel is right is best.
Hope Snowball does well for you and the other local grower!

I like the 220.3 sib cross on paper. However if one of those candidates if way ahead of the others I'd use it.

220 x Freak = 1744 Fulk 220 x Self = 1734 Steil 220 x 1495 would be my choice. Get some really heavy in there from some different Genetics.
