Looking for a little advice, second year growing pumpkins first year growing "BIG" pumpkins, first, thank you for all the great posts and pictures. I am leaning something new every time I look at this site. I have made a few rookie mistakes. I am wondering and would like some feed back about burying vines. I didn't bury my vines, should i do this while my pumpkin is growing? What am I losing out not burying them? Is it to late? Thanks....

There are 3 reasons to bury vines: better rooting, hide them from vine borers, and hold them down in the wind until they get rooted. Some like me just bury at root nodes, others bury the whole vine. If your vines are rooted down and you have a good insecticide program, contact and systemic, there isn't a lot of advantage to bury at this stage of growth.

I don't think it's to late to bury....they'll still root if the plant is healthy ...
