I'm taking a consensus. If you have grown a 1662 could you please tell me if it was orange or not. Thanks. Scott

http://www.bigpumpkins.com/DiaryImages/FullSize/143366.jpg When this color is orange nearby the bright yellow cap, there is one fruit grown orange from the 1662. It is the 1445 Michaud 10 a 1662 pollinated by the 1288 Wallace 08, as you can see with zoom on the shingle in this picture.

This is the 1450 Wallace which gave that orange gene to the 1662 Gene pool.....

Thanks cntryboy, that's the best tip I've learned in a while. And some people say there's no knowledge being shared on this site. I now know how to grow a bigger pumpkin and use my iPhone all thanks to Cecil.
