Any thoughts out there on the most expensive seeds sold in auctions so far this winter? Below are mine.(#'s 4-6)

4) 2032 Mathison $280, $260, $260, $260, & $240
Statistically, this appears to be one of the best seeds as far as productivity to grow something above 1000 pounds or greater. It's a good seed to go for if you are looking for big, since it has tended more often than not to weigh somewhat less than its estimates. Nevertheless, based on the results this summer it clearly has possible future world record weight growing potential too.

5) 2102 Meier $240
Growers seem to love the 1985 Miller genetics. If at least one or two of these seeds produces something over 2000 pounds this summer, or creeps up near that world record range, then this will go way up in price next year. Like the 2323 Meier, you just don't know what you will get until it has a chance to be proven. Nevertheless, the genetic background has to get your attention.

6) 1725 Harp $230 & $230
A few years ago it seemed like this was the seed that just about everyone wanted as a top priority. As years go by, however, it's inevitable that newer seeds will eventually statistically outperform older seeds. It's still a great seed, but a few years ago there is no way that a 1725 Harp would go for only $230. For what it has done for giant pumpkin growing, it will still always be remembered as one of the best and one of the biggest reasons why we have pumpkins the size that we do today.
