I'm really pleased to have this seed, I really would like to plant it even if it could be a bit risky. So do you know how many of them splitted?

I have followed this seed fairly close because I have one and am growing it this year. The first year out it seemed like about 5 or 6 of them split. Last year they seemed to hold together a bit better.

Another question: the pollinator of this plant is the 1725 Harp that grows the 2009 Wallace?

This is one of those seeds that I'm shocked hasn't had more attention. It has had a very good track record. I wouldn't even hesitate to grow it if I were you. According to the GPC Weighoff Results and Information section on this site, five grew over 1,750 pounds this past season, and another did the same the year before. Other than the 2009 Wallace, I don't know of any other seed that has had that many grow over 1,750 pounds. A real added bonus is that the majority of them grown seem to tend to grow heavier than estimated weight wise. It just seems to me that all of the right ingredients are there for this seed to be a major player when it comes to the next level of giant pumpkins grown in the future.

thanks again, I'm now choosing the possible crosses, I think that 1623 x 1916 Barron, or 1623 x 1756 Lancaster could be good choices. What do you think?

As for crosses, I really like both the 1756 Lancaster and the 1916 Barron for very different reasons. A 1756 Lancaster seed just missed producing a one ton pumpkin and also has had a bunch of others above 1,500 pounds. It is clearly one of the better proven seeds out there within the past few years. It would be a very safe choice to go with. Although the 1916 Barron seeds are new, and have not had the chance to be proven yet, I think they have great potential. Usually I avoid seeds that are unproven, but it's parents, the 2009 Wallace and the 1730.5 Werner produced seeds which I believe measure up with virtually any others out there possibly ever. I'm going to be keeping a very close eye on how the 1916 does this year. I think it could be a great one. It went twenty percent heavy, which makes me think it could have an impact like the 1495 Stelts a few years earlier, which grew to twenty-five percent heavy. Personally, I'd try to grow all three seeds that you list above and then keep the best two plants. If one plant is clearly not measuring up, which often happens, I'd remove it if you simply don't have the space to let all three grow out to complete size. I hope that helps Gabriele!

Thank you very much, I think I'm going to have 4 plants, because it's only my third year and I prefer to have more chance to grow a big one. My lineup will probably be: 1623, 1756, 1916 and 1700 Werner or 1650 Werner (1676 Daletas x 2009) and reverse. Every plant will have a 480 square feet triangular patch

1623 x 1916 barron (plus reverse) is a very good possible cross.
last season we split three monster pumpkins from my 1623. but only after a five inch rain fall did they split.
i would not be afraid to plant again this year. potential for something great is there.
most agressive pumpkins would split after that much rain.

I would be scared to see a giant greenhouse over the Wallace patch!

I think 2500 would only be a year or so away if this happen:)

I got a good result last year with 1623, unfortunately
the mine vine grew under fruit it start to root
right near the stem in early august, it was been
Very difficult to care cause the position, i'm sure
With out this problem to the vine the pumpkin should
Been 100 or more lbs heaviest
1623 will be in the patch this year also, like pap say
it is a very aggressive plant!!!
