I am a big fan of good old fashioned Maple Syrup. I know in some other posts on this site guys have mentioned they have trees and such. I guess I am hoping to maybe get some of the good stuff from someone here cheaper than I can from the store. So let me know! Willing to trade whatever too. edwardsrodeo@hotmail.com

Can syrup be made from red maples? Or only sugar maples? I have a ton of reds in my woods (wetland swamp).

Pastor I'm attempting to make some homemade maple syrup. If it turns out then you're welcome to some. I'll let you kow.

Thanks Andy. Jeff I know nothing about making syrup, I just enjoy it often, in fact I am having waffles for dinner.

I've used Red Maples (Acer Rubrum) & they are fine for syrup. Don't waste time with Norway's though. Their sap is mostly water. Lot's of cooking for a watery lite syrup with little taste.
