Went to Utah Giant pumpkin Growers weigh off today. They used my lifting rings and Dori Sling excusively. There were over 100 pumpkins weighted today. The largest was Tyler Quigleys 1238 pounder. Everything went well. People really like the Dori Slings to attach the lifting ring to forklift. Dori Slings are $35 plus shipping. I am having a special. With every lifting ring ordered I will included a Dori Sling free of charge. Dori Slings have been pull tested to 5,012 lbs when I stopped the test.

Bought one of the 27" at the Utah weigh off. The straps are nice and thick and the draw strap for the bottom is 20 ft which was nice since my pumpkin was about 15 ft around. The ring I borrowed to get it out of the patch had only a 15 ft draw string. It was almost too short. My new ring with its 20 foot draw strap sure made it easy to unload at the house. This ring is the Cadillac and the Dori sling makes is super easy for a fork lift.

Cachekin.. I appreciate your comments on my rings and Dori Sling. I am especially happy that you grew your 1066.5 Gebert on my "Spider Pumpkin" 764 Perry seed. It was the 1622 Young crossed with the 1818.5 Bryson. Not only did Alan and hi lovely wife buy a 27" ring from me but they won a 27" ring for weighting the 3rd largest pkn at Thanksgiving Point WO. Alan could teach some of us growers a few things as he grew a 1109 and 1066.5 as a first year grower. Thanks for your comments

After talking to a few growers that have used my lifting rings I am going to lengthen my closing strap to 25 feet. Pumpkinjam (Joe Menting) said when he lifted his 1526 Menting the closing straps was almost too short. He was using my 39" ring with the 20 foot closing strap. From now on all my rings will have a longer closing strap. If you can grow a big pumpkin I have a ring to lift it.

On my 39" diameter lifting ring, I will add 12 adjustable straps instead of the regular 6 straps. I have lengthen the adjustable straps by a foot to accomadate the real big pumpkins. The larger diameter of the ring will make the straps reach farther than on a smaller ring. For instance on a 2,400 lb pkn the weight on each strap will be only 200 lbs. This will put less side pressure on the big pumpkins that are showing up at the weigh offs. The closing strap for the bottom of the straps will be at least 25 feet long.
