Last spring I did a soil test with A&L: pH 6.4, OM 14%, K600 ppm, Ca 2157 ppm, CEC 18. In the fall I added 100 # lime/1500 sq ft., 8 yards of manure and 3 inches of mint straw and tilled. This January repeat test shows: pH 7.6, OM 14%, K 2314 ppm, Ca 2609 ppm, CEC 23. I guess I probably should have used gypsum instead of lime but thought 6.4 was a little low.
Should I do anything to bring the pH back down? And, what about the K? Is that from the dairy manure? We have had at least 13 inches of rain since I added it to the patch in November. I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks, Jim

the high ph is probally coming from fresh manure it will initially spike ph but then it will adjust back down. I don't think it is a major concern. the potash is more than likely from the manure I would think your p levels would have spiked too

The pH will decrease as the soil dries. Broadcast gypsum now don't till it in. Too much K in the Spring can be detriment to the biology. That will leach out. Innoculate the soil when the temp rises above 55. What are you using for Nitrogen? You'll need an early N source.
