My Borons through the roof. The water comes out of a nieghborhood well. I've heard leaching is the only way to lower it...but, my water's the source. HELP! (sorry, couldn't find my lab results)

You have arid alkaline soil you should expect high levels of Boron. You might try some gypsum...

there's a line in this one about how boron leaches out and isn't a major problem when over applied, which is contrary to what i have heard other places.

All kinds of ills are given a much better chance if your Organic or Humus percentages are 10% or higher. I suspect that it is the better environment for the biological community that will try to ballance our soils in spite of our doings....that makes the difference.

In conjunction with the much desired healthy patch the sooner you reduce or eliminate the use of manufactured chemicals in the soils the faster recovery will be realized.

Ah Ha! Found the lab results buried in a pile of pumpkin info. My Boron level is 5.4 ppm. In my first entry (I don't think I was clear) my water is the source of my high levels of Boron. Shannon, thank you for the advice on the gypsum...that is exactly what A&L Western Agriculture Laboratories told me to do. Your link was very informative. Also, thank you andy W for the link. The visual aids are fantastic! Docgipe, your right...for the last 3.5 yrs I've been growing organically. The soil gets better every year. By the way you spell very wel.
