i DID a soil test last fall and posted a question and got imput. I only applied 6 pick up loads horse manure. cover crop rye. my test was done thru penn state.start with soil nutirent. cannot do ppm
ph 7.1-----phosphate 1525 lb/acre--potash 1759 lb/acre-magnesium 1182 lb/acre calcium 10209 lb/acre
lab--echangeable cation k-1.9--mg 3.0---ca 18.4--cec 19.8
cec sat k-9.5% mg 14.9sat% ca 75.6% organic matter 17.3%

I was thinking sulfer to lower ph 6.8 range. should I do anthying else. potassium and mag are high, calcium seems good per giant pumpkins III book.
AS always any suggestion is appreciated. I did a early test due to the high test last fall. the spring test is similar to last fall. oh my patch is 59x36. need to grow veggies for the misses

thanks Tim

How's about using Peat Moss as a mulch to prevent weeds? As it decays it will gently lower the pH without adding sulfur. I don't see a value for sulfur & wouldn't want to see you over-do the S.

7.1 isn't all that high considering the results some other's have achieved with much higher values.

Thanks Tremor. With the other higher values is there anything i need to watch out for, or will they decrease on there own over the season, with values as they are showld I hold off starting seaweed/fish aplications as certain period of time? Would it be wothwhile to repeat a soil test 6-8 weeks into the season or just watch the plants?. thanks tim

You are definatley getting on the rich side of things... I would be curious to know your NO3 level in mid june when things get good and warm!! I agree totally with the sugestion of peat moss. It will also add low nutrient bulk whitch is what you are after if you want to dilute your higher nutrient values.
Divide by 2 to get ppm or mg/kg.
