I had two soil tests done and this is the information that I got back.

Soil Test Area #1

[P] (lb/a) 40
PH 6.9
[Ca] (lb/a) 6800
[Mg] (lb/a) 204
[K] (lb/a) 165
CEC (meq/100g) [Computed] 15.6

Approximate % Base Saturation (computed)
% Ca 91.7
% Mg 5.5
% K 1.4
% H 1.5

Soil Test Area #2

[P] (lb/a) 15
PH 6.3
[Ca] (lb/a) 6400
[Mg] (lb/a) 206
[K] (lb/a) 160
CEC (meq/100g) [Computed] 17

Approximate % Base Saturation (computed)
% Ca 83.2
% Mg 5
% K 1.2
% H 10.5

Test Area #2 was recomender that I add 400lbs Calcium/1 acre and 1 tons of Limestone/1 acre.

I would like some help in understanding where I am at with my soil. Any help in understanding this or recomendations for what I should add would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Justin

Did they give you a buffer pH for patch 2? I would likely not add the Calcium, but just go with the lime. Likely you should go a bit higher rate. Use dolomitic if you can get it.

You need to bring up your p and K levels, I would like to see the k in the 300 ppm range.

Also, we need to know the OM. Your nest bet is to get a bunch of aged manure asap. This will bring up your p, K and also your Mg. This will also help to lower your Ca base saturation which is a bit high.
