Greetings!! I posted my soil test results for two patches on my diary (Autumnleaf). If anyone has a spare moment I would really,REALLY appreciate some imput. There is a cover crop waiting to be tilled in. Each patch is 1300-1400 sq.ft. Thank You So Much! Michelle

Patch #2, I wouldn’t worry about the pH. If you try to lower with Sulfur, you will leach calcium. Your Na (salt) is high. Anything over 2 can be toxic. Perhaps some Gypsum could raise your Ca a little and lower your salt. Watch your Manganese. At this pH level you will be deficient. I would look at foliar application at flowering and after. Patch #1, This patch looks fine…grow em big. Salts are high as in patch 1. Watch the Mn

Fantastic!! Thank you County Kid...... I know that the horse manure is high in salts and traditionally I've applied gypsum to help leach them out and add calcium. Patch 2 is new to giant pumpkins and will need extra tlc.
Much Appreciated!! Michelle

You might want to add Ca to patch 1 too. Patch 2, I agree about the Mn and Ca and I'd also be wondering about Fe at that pH. Could that cause yellow leaves?

I'm going to add gypsum to both patches...will also attempt to adjust the Mn with foliar application. Thank you so much for the help Christrules!! What would bring the iron down? Watering/leaching? Michelle

I don't think the Fe is at a bad level, it's just border-line with the pH you have. As the season gets going, your pH probably will go down and the Fe shouldn't be an issue. But, if you see yellow leaves in the beginning of the season, especially next month (cool soil), you might consider trying to put some warmth to the soil before adding Fe.
