hello i had a fairly low ph as it was ,, it was 5.4 i raised it to 5.7 then my dumb ass added a inch or two layer of 5 or so year old manure,, think i set it back to around 5.4 again? i wasnt thinking till i read something yesterday,, i cant wait till i get this puppy growing its been a depressing spring

If it is composted properly it should not decrease your PH. Fresh manure will drop your PH a few points, but this all depends on the manure...Thinks like Rabbit, and Llama can be added directly to the garden and are refered to as a Cold Manure. Now Chicken, Turkey or Pig is a different story and should always be composted

this is horse and i wonder whats the shortest amount of time i could be called composted ?

I've read many times 12 months is good for manure to be completely composted.

Tom Privitera just recommended calcium nitrate for my slow growers here in VT. I'm using a few of his products instead, which have hormones, vitamins, and other goodies to kick start the little bastards into growing.
